35th International Executive Council (IEC)
Friendship Week; 21 - 28 September 2008

The 35th International Executive Council (IEC) conference
will be hosted by Section Russia

Important Visa information

  • Visitors from all countries, except Ukraine and Cyprus,  require a visa to enter Russia.

IPA Russia tells us that for efficiency when obtaining visas, they have a Special Treaty with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In accordance with this Treaty, the Russian Section will send an invitation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to each person that registers, with a copy to the Russian Embassy in every country where applications have been made.

The following procedure should be adopted by all Delegates, observers and visitors who wish to attend the 35 IEC and/or Friendship Week.

1.

Each person sends a completed Registration Form before 20th March 2008 to the Russian Section, with a copy of their passport plus evidence of payment of deposit by Observers and Visitors. (Delegate accommodation is paid for by the International Treasury).

The documentation can by sent by

  • Fax       +7 (495) 255-00-42     or

  • Email    iec2008@mail.ipa-iac.org     or

  • Post      Postal address available from IAC
                 or your own National Section

2. Bank details will be published here soon. Alternatively contact the organisers, iec2008@mail.ipa-iac.org

3. An invitation letter would then be sent to each person, giving a specific reference number for visa application to their Embassy. This reference number would be provided from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

4. A copy of this invitation letter with the reference number would go to the respective Embassy. The anticipated procedure from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs would take between 3 – 14 days.

5.

All countries require visas (except Ukraine and Cyprus).

Most Sections will already know in March who will be attending.  Therefore, the deadline date of 20th March for registering with the organising committee was agreed, even though the official deadline date for registering Delegates and Observers with the IAC will be in June.

IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF EVERY PARTICIPANT TO APPLY FOR VISAS AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE.  THE RUSSIAN SECTION WILL NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR LATE APPLICATIONS.

For further information contact the organising committee, email address iec2008@mail.ipa-iac.org, or your own National Section.

National Sections that have enquiries should contact the IAC in the normal way
